Zoals Bowie zingt in Golden Years: “Don’t let me hear you say life’s taking you nowhere.”
EN And then comes the moment when you know. You know who you are, and for the first time, you no longer need to question it. You don’t need to explain yourself or hide. You allow yourself to be seen — and you enjoy it. You discover that there is nothing wrong with who you are, who you love, or how you want to show yourself to the world. Your body is no longer something to be ashamed of, but something that belongs to you. Something you can be proud of.
The warm colours and open pose capture that feeling of confidence and pleasure. As if the years of searching are finally behind you, and you can simply think: these are my years.
As Bowie sings in Golden Years: “Don’t let me hear you say life’s taking you nowhere.”
Perhaps the golden years are not the years behind you, but the moment when you finally dare to be yourself.
